Soprano Beth DuRoy's opera performances include appearances with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera as Cousin in Madama Butterfly, as Elizabeth in UNCG's production of The Ballad of Baby Doe, Susanna in the American Singers Opera Project production of Le Nozze di Figaro, Esmerelda in The Bartered Bride with the UNCG Opera Theatre, as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor with the Bethesda Summer Music Festival, and as Belinda in Dido and Aeneas with Echo Early Music Festival. DuRoy has been awarded top prize three times in local and regional National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions. She has given recitals at Bryan College, University of TN Chattanooga, Southern Adventist University, The Hunter Museum of Art and Asheville Lyric Opera. Recent solo performances include BWV 80, with Asheville Choral Society, Michael Haydn's Ave Regina caelorum and Schubert's Mass in C Major with the Chattanooga Bach Choir, and "A Taste of Opera" with Asheville Lyric Opera. Upcoming performances include a lecture recital on the collaborative process for CMTA and Mozart quartet recitals for the St. Timothy's Episcopal Church Concert Series and Chattanooga State Community College. Ms. DuRoy received the Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
